For the past ten days all Sydney has wanted to talk about has been that one of her bottom baby teeth was loose. She showed it to Joe Bill a number of times and even told me that I could video tape it if I wanted. I politely declined. I told her that The Tooth Fairy didn’t need photographic proof. Putting a real baby tooth under a pillow is all that’s required to get money!
Even though James is only four and it’s a long time before he’ll be losing one of his baby teeth, he made us laugh when he told us what he wanted. He said: “I want very soft toilet paper!” He wasn’t kidding. I’m guessing that James was influenced by some toilet paper ad on television! The ad didn’t work perfectly since James didn’t ask for a specific brand name!
Luckily, for Syd her Grandfather TaTa (Lan) and Grandmother Del (Adele) were in town. Skyler told us that her Dad was such a pro at pulling her baby teeth that he came to her school and pulled hers out in the cafeteria in front of her friends.
TaTa felt comfortable doing Syd’s tooth in the bathroom at a Tai Restaurant. JB and Adele remained at the table. He was afraid that Syd was going to cry and that there’d be a lot of blood. Neither thing happened. Syd was very brave and looked surprised that her tooth came out so easily.
The Tooth Fairy was very generous…leaving Syd a $5 bill in a napkin that she proudly held up for all of us to see. The other Tooth Fairy, who came to her house, left Syd 75 cents. She was thrilled with both cash payouts!
18 month old Baby Jack came over the other day to play with Syd and James. There were lots of role reversals going on. Jack was feeding Syd and later they were laughing when he combed her hair. By the way, Syd rarely lets anyone fix her hair.
We do everything that we can to make this a very happy home. When Mommy Skyler tickles James I can assure you this is a one happy place! And talk about people laughing…you’ll have to look at the last picture of JB and Jack. Just like Syd and James that little baby boy really gets tickled when he’s playing here.
