‘When Sydney’s Happy, Everybody’s Happy!’

One day Sydney said to Joe Bill: “I’m happy. Are YOU happy with ME?” Of course, JB said: “Yes.” Then Syd enthusiastically announced: “WHEN SYDNEY’S HAPPY, EVERYBODY’S HAPPY!” I think everyone will agree with that.

I’ve written before about Sydney’s extensive vocabulary, but knowing that she’s only 3½ makes it more impressive. She was eating some fancy green beans that Skyler and Jimmy had bought her. After the first bite Syd complained: “This is DISGUSTING!” Her second bite brought the opposite reaction. Syd exclaimed: “This is EXQUISITE!”

I want to ask you, when does a 3 year old use the word EXQUISITE? Maybe, it’s like asking when does a 3 year old say: “Ooh-La-La?”

When JB and I recently were taking Sydney to a movie at The Alamo Draft House on West Anderson Lane I wanted Syd to meet my close friend Danette, who tries to get me into shape a couple of times a week…so we walked across the parking lot to BodyBusiness. As we were headed there, ‘Miss Personality’ Sydney Marie Stewart told me that she was going to be ‘just a little bit shy.’ When we went into the workout studio we headed to the Ladies Locker Room to find Danette.

In the beginning, Syd kind of hid behind me and wasn’t saying much. Danette, who knows more about Sydney then Sydney knows about Sydney, was talking to Syd in the sweetest way. Syd finally came out from behind me and really started to open up. Rather quickly, Syd was talking about when she was in her Mommy’s tummy, then she started doing some of her favorite yoga poses in front of all the ladies and she even spoke a little Spanish. For a shy girl, Syd made a lot of new friends that day!

By the way, I’ve posted pictures of Sydney and Baby James being adorable Little Longhorns. Syd knows how to do “Hook ‘em Horns” but her Kid Brother doesn’t. Baby James was holding up 5 fingers instead of the required 2. Syd was being really sweet to him and was showing him what to do. The kids have plenty of Orange Blood on both sides of their family. We’re all happy that The Tower has been Orange for the first 2 games…let’s hope this continues!
