‘We Got Away From Santa & Other Funny Things Involving Sydney, James & Jack Celebrating Christmas &

Joe Bill and I are having a wonderful time with Sydney, James and Jack during the Holidays. One of the traditions in Austin is the lighting of the iconic Zilker Park Tree. When we were pointing it out to James the other day when we were driving past it, the darling 5 1/2 year old loudly announced: “IT'S NOT A TREE!” James, who's always literal about everything, is right. IT'S NOT A TREE! It's 19 utility poles that are 14 feet high arranged in a circle around the Moonlight Tower. It stands 155 feet tall. In case you're into this kind of info. it has 3,309 lights. I've included a beautiful shot that Curtis Haynes posted. Jack has an attack when he sees Santa! Not liking Santa is a real problem at this time of the year because St. Nick is here, there and everywhere. Jack has told us: "I don't like Santa!" In fact, the 2 1/2 year old little guy is terrified when he sees him. We took Jack to JB's Law Firm's Fun Family Christmas Party. I'd told Jack before we went to the party that he wouldn't have to talk to Santa or have his picture taken with him and that we'd move to the other side of the room away from Santa. That wasn't enough for Jack. He wanted to go back to our house...so we left right away. When we were in the car Jack looked over at me and with a relieved look on his adorable face he told me: “WE GOT AWAY FROM SANTA!” The way he said it you would have thought that Santa was trying to track us down and run us over with his sleigh! Jack doesn't mind seeing Santa dolls and he even asked me to tell him a bedtime story about Santa the other night when I put him to bed. But Jack is always on the look out for Santa. We celebrated Hanukkah a few days early the other night with Syd, James and Jack. Jack wanted to know if Santa would be there. He was happy when he learned Santa isn't part of The Festival of Lights. Syd and James love doing the lights, getting presents and eating the chocolate gold coins we call Gelt. Syd helped Jack open his candy. Jack now likes that 'Santa Free Holiday' Hanukkah too! By the way, I love the picture of gorgeous Sydney sitting at our dining room table reading. Without me prompting her, she'd picked up a book about Hanukkah and was reading it to James. Syd, James and Jack enjoyed trimming some of our Christmas Trees. I've put together one tree that has ornaments with pictures of The Kids. I noticed that Syd, James and Jack's favorite ornaments had their own pictures on them! If you're in a bad mood, you need to watch the 1st VIDEO I posted. James has the cutest laugh as Mommy Skyler continued to tickle him. The 2nd VIDEO gives you an insight into how James acts when he's being ‘The Annoying Little Brother!’ I've included pictures of Syd & James' Mommy Skyler & Daddy Jimmy as well as Jack's Mommy Gigi & Daddy Joel. JB and I always feel lucky that they're in our lives. JB and I hope you have a Healthy & Happy Holiday Season! Love, D2
