‘The Matthew McConaughey Naked Rule & How It Applies To Sydney & James!’

Writer's picture: DeDe WatkinsDeDe Watkins

One day James proudly announced with a big grin on his face: “I’m Neked Boy!” or as we’d say ‘Naked Boy’ as he sat down at his little table and chair waiting for us to bring him food. He was naked as a jaybird. We asked him to put on some underwear.

As the popular restaurant saying goes: ‘No Shirt, No Shoes, No Service!’ James reluctantly did what we asked.

Austin is known for having plenty of naked guys…there’s Hippie Hollow, the nudist swimming area at Lake Travis.

Of course, people have heard of the Austin Police arresting handsome movie star Matthew McConaughey when he was naked, playing the bongos in his own home, wearing only a babushka tied around his great looking head. Then County Attorney Ken Oden, who’s a close friend, famously said: “McConaughey wasn’t naked. In some parts of Austin he’d be considered a WELL DRESSED MAN!”

Joe Bill and I decided that we’d ask Skyler what Mommy’s Rules are when it comes to her children wearing clothes or the lack thereof when they’re eating. Here’s what she told us: “Syd is 4… so she should have on clothes. Since James is still potty training he only has to wear a shirt.” It looks like James scored a partial victory.

I must add that I did NOT ask Skyler if Matthew McConaughey has to wear any clothes if he comes over to visit!!!!

Be sure to look at a slideshow that I did showing that Sydney & James Are ‘Simply Irresistible!’ The pictures are from 2009-2010. The music is performed by Robert Palmer, 1988.

By the way, Skyler proudly reported great news about Jimmy’s Do512 very successful South by Southwest (SXSW) Events in her daily pic email:

“Jimmy personally hosted 40 bands over 7 days. Entertained visitors. Partially lost his voice in the first 48 hours. Slept 3-5 hours each night over the past 7 days. This year’s annual Do512 showcase ‘The Big One 2012’ hosted in Downtown Austin at the Belmont Club on 6th Street packed the house the entire day, with a line around the block that began forming at 9:45am. (A record 30,306 people RSVP’d for ‘The Big One’ party. An impressive 16,753 people RSVP’d for his Do512 & Air Cover’s Epic Interactive party March 9th also held at the Belmont.)”

Skyler pointed out: “It all paid off. Do512.com had significantly more traffic than the official media sponsor of South by Southwest (roughly double the traffic on some days during the festival.) Way to go, Jimmy!!! We are so proud of you!”

JB and I say: “Good job, Jimmy!” As you can well imagine, Jimmy’s glad to be back home and Skyler, Syd and James feel the same way!

Love, D2
