‘Sydney the Entertainer’

We really had fun with the Stewart Family when they were celebrating Jimmy’s beloved Grandmother’s Birthday. Mary Kent is 92 years young. Joe Bill and I appreciated being included.

The Stewarts didn’t need to hire any high priced entertainment for the Birthday Weekend because Sydney Marie Stewart was front and center. JB and I always enjoy hearing Syd sing. While she’s frequently off key she makes up for it by being extremely enthusiastic and totally darling. She usually adds some innovative aerobic dance moves and always ends with a deep bow, a big smile that shows off her dimples and she energetically thanks anyone who has stayed around to listen to her. She doesn’t need cue cards, like the ones that are used on live TV shows, where the producers hold them up to let the audience know when to clap. That’s because Syd has orchestrated that ahead of time. Little Miss Detail is never one to leave things like that to chance. She told us to be sure to say YEA and to clap for her.

At one point Syd put her Princess panties on her head in imaginative ways and hammed it up. She made them look like a beret, then a cap and finally like those yucky things that the lunchroom workers wore when we were in high school. I guess what she did was the equivalent of adult drunks putting a lamp shade on their head at a party. Honestly, she looked so cute that we couldn’t stop laughing.

It was like a giant slumber party. I want to point out that Syd went to bed wearing her gorgeous velvet and gold brocade elaborate Princess dress that her parents gave her for her birthday. She must be a real Princess because she told us that it was comfy to sleep in. I have to say that it’s no surprise that the first words when she got up were: “Where’s my tiara?”

Syd made sure that JB got things ship shape BEFORE leaving. She insisted that he wash his car (she’d told him that for 2 days) and she pointed out that he should make sure that they clean the tires because they were very dirty. She also let him know that he needed to shave. She’s 3 years old. Can you imagine what this girl is going to be like when she’s older??? What a piece of work! I must say that I’m grateful to Syd for making those requests. Good job, Sydney!

By the way, being someone who always cares about fashion, Little Fashionista and Child Style Icon Sydney Marie Stewart let us know that she plans to wear a darling red and black crinoline Ladybug costume, including the wings, on her flight to China. She’s certainly going to be an ENTERTAINING passenger on the 15 hour flight from Chicago to Shanghai. Perhaps I shouldn’t have worried about Syd at customs with them thinking she’s a SQUIRREL…what do you think the policy is about bringing LADYBUGS into China?

Love, D2
