As you’ve learned from some of my earlier stories, Sydney Marie Stewart loves to win but she gets very angry and starts crying when she doesn’t. Joe Bill and I have been trying to work with her and explain that a game is for fun and that she shouldn’t get so upset when she loses. JB admits that he didn’t fully learn this lesson until he was about 11! One day we were getting ready to play a game in the car. I told Sydney that she couldn’t play with us because she cries when she loses. With a confident smile on her darling face Syd announced: “I’M NOT GOING TO CRY!” I asked Syd why she was so sure that she wasn’t going to cry. She quickly replied: “BECAUSE I’M GOING TO WIN!!!” Even though James is only 3, he’s quick with answers too. When it’s nap time at our house I have James go into the downstairs bedroom. We’ll let him have a DVD to watch, hoping that he’ll fall asleep while he’s looking at it. I tell James: “Get in your sleeping position.” That means he should be under the covers and that he can watch the video in a reclining position. When I come back and check on him, if he’s sitting up, I remind him that he needs to get into his sleeping position…which is what he’ll do. Over the weekend James came up with a NEW PLAN. When I got him into bed he was sitting up straight. That’s when James boldly announced: “THIS IS MY NEW SLEEPING POSITION!” He told me that a couple of times. I wanted to laugh because it was such a clever idea. After a little while, JB came in and took the DVD away. James then told us: “I’m never going to sleep again!” When I checked on him a few minutes later, luckily, for all of us he was fast asleep! I love taking pictures of Syd & James. I especially love taking pictures of them with Mommy Skyler. Skyler is gorgeous and photogenic so I know that I’ll always have some great shots if she’s in range of my camera. When Skyler came to pick up The Kids she started tickling Syd. They looked so cute together. Syd was wearing her new purple leotard and a flowing flower child style skirt. James looked adorable when he woke up from his nap. I’ve included some of those pictures. This post includes some photos of beautiful Sydney checking out our Christmas decorations. She often puts on wings and a tiara to go with the princess dress she’s wearing. This time her wardrobe included a MAGNIFYING GLASS. Sydney wanted to closely study some of our ornaments! I’ve included a very short VIDEO that shows how happy Syd was playing with Baby Jack. She was even calling him her BABY BROTHER! Syd’s a great Big Sister to James and we’re sure that she’ll be the same way with Baby Jack as he grows up. Love, D2
