Sydney Marie Stewart has come up with a new job for herself. She’s thinking about making herself a surrogate Big Sister. She feels she’s doing such a great job instructing her Kid Brother James that she can do the same for other people’s children.
Sydney loves Gigi & Joel Melrose, who are expecting their first child in late March. As luck would have it they’re going to have a boy….Sydney’s specialty.
The other night in the car Syd let Joe Bill and James know that she’s a pro at raising boys.
Syd listed off some basic rules for James to follow when he’s around Gigi & Joel’s new born. First, she told James that he should never drop the baby and that he should be quiet around the little one. These rules rank up there with ‘Never Drink Out Of A Trash Can!’
Sydney let Joe Bill and me know that she’d teach the newborn colors, shapes and Spanish….all things Baby Melrose needs to know. James is big on beer, although he’s never had any to drink. Hopefully, he won’t be passing along that info. anytime soon!
My guess is that Syd would work for peanuts…well, maybe not peanuts…lollipops and chocolate I’m sure would do the trick.
By the way, here’s another matter that involves Sydney, Gigi & Joel.
Everyone on the planet, except maybe Syd and the companies that manufacture pacifiers, can’t wait for that darling little girl to stop using mycees, her name for her pacifiers. Skyler and Jimmy have been discussing the fact that when Syd turns 4 that there will be a Special Ceremony where she’ll give all of her mycees away. It looks like Gigi & Joel’s baby could be the lucky recipient!
Coochie Update: James tries to copy just about everything about Sydney but this is carrying things too far. He must not be listening carefully to ‘Sydney’s Anatomy Classes.’ The other day James told me that HE had a coochie. I let him know that he doesn’t but I figured that he’ll need to go to Mommy, Daddy or Sydney for more information!
I’ve included some pictures from a day when Syd was wearing some costumes. You’ll be able to see what an ethereal beauty she is.
This will be a memorable Thanksgiving for Longhorn and Aggie fans. I found a vintage poster announcing the Dedication of Texas Memorial Stadium Thanksgiving of 1924. We beat the Aggies 7 to 0. Let’s hope we win Thursday at our last scheduled game against our biggest in-state rival. UT and A&M have been playing each other every year since 1884 except 6 seasons when the Aggies did not have a team. By the way, the next time you see Syd and James ask them to sing ‘The Eyes of Texas!’
