What a difference a year makes. A year ago Sydney Marie Stewart was really afraid of getting anywhere near Santa Claus. Joe Bill's Law Firm has a very elaborate Christmas party where Ole St. Nick is available for pictures.
Syd, who was 3 years old, refused to be near him and instructed her Kid Brother Baby James, who was only 2 at the time, to sit next to the Jolly Man with the fluffy white beard. Baby James smiled thru everything while at times Syd avoided eye contact with Santa and looked like she was ready to bolt out of her chair.
Fast forward to this year. Sydney Marie Stewart not only wasn't afraid of Santa but she touched his beard, asked him questions and compared her clothing with his!
I mentioned to Syd that Santa had on red velvet clothes just like she did. The next thing I knew the Child Fashionista & Style Icon was pointing this out to friendly Mr. Claus.
You'll be able to tell from my pictures that James enjoyed talking to Santa too. He was asking: “Where are your reindeer?”
Syd and James had fun last week on their Pre School Field Trip to Inner Space Caverns in Georgetown, which is about 45 minutes away. It's billed as "one of the best preserved caves in Texas and one of the few places where remains of prehistoric animals were unearthed." All of us were bundled up in heavy jackets but that wasn't necessary because it was 72 degrees and 98% humidity...simply, it was like being in an underground sauna!
Before we went into the Cavern The Kids had a great time feeding the animals. It looks like Syd has a Starbuck's coffee in her hand but it's really food for the zebra, the goat and the donkey.
While Syd wasn't afraid of Santa she was a little scared about going underground. James kept telling us: “I'm brave. I'll protect you, Sydney, DeDe and Joe Bill!” The Kids were fascinated with what they saw during our 50 minute walk. They especially loved the idea that the limestone looked like ice cream!
