Joe Bill and I took Sydney to see ‘The Lion King’ at the Bass Concert Hall on the UT Campus. I’d lucked into 3 great seats in the center of the Orchestra Section in the 11th row for a matinee performance. Because I’d seen the show 4 times before and JB had seen it 3 times, we knew that it’s important to see it ‘up close and personal’ if you want to get the whole ‘Lion King Experience!’
We’d prepared Sydney ahead of time by telling her she might get afraid in certain parts but we assured her several times that the musical had a happy ending. I told her that people would be dressed up like animals and that we were watching a ‘pretend’ story. I let her know that some of the characters would be mean.
Luckily, during the ‘scary’ part Sydney wasn’t afraid. Midway in the show she leaned over and whispered: “I know that the people playing the mean animal characters are really nice people when they’re not in the show!”
I’ve included a variety of pictures…some that I took during The Holidays. I want you to see how cute Syd and James are when they’re playing together. They enjoy reading books and especially like the ones that have parts that can be opened to reveal surprises.
Sydney looked darling when she was playing catch with JB. She was dressed like a ballerina. She’s a graceful little girl. James has his favorite chair to sit in when he’s playing with certain toys. You can tell how much he’s grown recently!
Sydney and James were thrilled when 9 1/2 month old Baby Jack came over to play while his Mommy Gigi went to her Yoga class. Syd and James are sweet about showing Baby Jack toys and they enjoy making funny faces as they try to get him to laugh. Jack loves being with Syd and James but he’s always checking to make sure that either JB or I am there too!
The last pictures were taken when Sydney got dressed up at her house. She has such an impish part of her personality. She can be very endearing…James can be the same way too….which is lucky for all of us!
