One thing that's clear when you're with Sydney Marie Stewart is her perseverance and focus if she's interested in something. This weekend a little heart charm fell off a bracelet that Syd had found in one of our drawers. Ever the jewelry designer, Syd decided that she'd make it into a necklace. First, she asked me if I had a little chain for it, which I didn't. Then she asked for some string, which I didn't have either. She started rummaging thru some of the drawers but came up empty handed. Then, Syd thought up with the idea of using DENTAL FLOSS. Being a girl who just doesn't give up easily she started hitting up Joe Bill for some dental floss. She repeatedly asked if he had any. He told her didn't think so, but that he'd check. I then pulled JB aside and told him that I didn't want him to give her any dental floss because I don't like the idea of her wearing necklaces since I worry about them being a choking hazard for an active 4 year old. JB told her that he'd been looking for some for her but he couldn't find any. Syd was not satisfied with that answer. She was SURE that JB had dental floss so she demanded: "SHOW ME WHERE YOU LOOKED!" Finally, Syd found some lavender ribbon that was attached to a magic wand she discovered near her Cinderella slippers and her tiaras. She had me cut off the ribbon so that she could make a necklace...SUCCESS! Syd left the kitchen with a big smile on her pretty little face! In the photos you'll see Sydney looking lovely in a floral dress outside our house. She and James love to play hide and seek. If you look carefully at this photo you'll see where James is hiding right behind her. This pic reminds me of the book "Where's Waldo?" Syd and James hugged for a while and then in a show of strength she picked up her Kid Brother and carried him around! James wearing sun glasses reminds me of Tom Cruise in the mega hit movie 'Risky Business!' As you'll see, James continues to carry his 'Powerful Sword' around with him even when he reads books with Syd on JB's couch. Meanwhile, Syd loves to pose holding silk flowers. She pretends that she's in a wonderful garden...wonderful because it has no bugs and she doesn't have to face hot humid weather! Gigi & Joel Melrose brought over their nearly 6 month old Beautiful Baby Jack. Syd and James were thrilled that they could hold him. Before Jack was born Syd said that she could act like his big sister because he doesn't have one! My final shot is of Syd wearing her favorite wings.
