‘Sydney Marie Stewart Says: Call Me Maybe!’

Sydney is a fascinating person to be around. When Syd likes something she goes all out but if she’s not interested she could care less. I see this all the time when it comes to wearing clothes and shoes. Syd liked a spaghetti strap fuchsia ruffled ball gown with a jewel encrusted appliquéd bodice from the time she first saw it at our house. When she tried it on I couldn’t button it. Syd asked me to keep trying but I pointed out that there was no way on Earth that the dress would fit her. That didn’t slow down Syd. She continued asking me to keep trying. I think if she couldn’t breathe that would have been fine with her…but not with me. I feel that it’s my job as her godmother not to let her faint because her clothes are too small and to make sure that her feet don’t turn blue because her Disney and Barbie high heels are too tight! I finally made the large sash into a big bow and told her that would cover some of the white camisole under her dress. The reason that Syd had on a camisole was because she complains that some of the fancy party dresses and Princess gowns feel scratchy. It came to me that if she’s wearing something under her dress the crinoline and net fabric won’t bother her skin. You’ll be able to tell by the look on Syd’s gorgeous face in my pictures that she was really ‘working it.’ She was bustling around the bedroom asking James what he thought of her dress. Her Kid Brother didn’t even bother to look up from the game that he was playing yet he told her that the dress was fine. This is a ‘Venus/Mars’ kind of discussion that has gone on between females and males, probably, since the beginning of time. That reminds me that BeBe (Lynne) has said more than once that James will make a great husband having grown up around Sydney! After Syd enjoyed gazing at herself in the mirror she ran off to show Joe Bill her new dress. Of course, he complimented her. Syd was in such a good mood that she decided that she’d twirl and do some dancing. When I asked Syd what music she wanted she didn’t skip a beat…her first choice was Carly Rae Jepson’s mega hit ‘Call Me Maybe.’ Syd has great rhythm and dances better than a lot of stars on the TV show ‘Dancing With The Stars.’ Syd feels the music. Be sure to watch Syd’s VIDEO. I also included some Easter pictures. For some strange reason Syd and James like putting things on their heads…that’s why they’re wearing their Easter baskets like they’re Easter bonnets! Our baskets didn’t include any candy…instead we put in activity and other books plus some little toys. The Kids like to work together when it comes to completing mazes and learning to spell. In addition, I’ve posted some great pictures that Mommy Skyler and Aunt Kate took Easter Weekend. Ama (Mary Ann) had given them darling Western clothes. I think The Kids looked like they’d stepped out of “Town and Country Magazine” with the emphasis on country. I especially like the pic of Syd getting out of the car. The girl does know how to make an entrance! You’ll see some photos of James in our pool. He decided that he’d get his head wet…but not in the usual way! He loved how his hair looked! Syd and James were happy to see Mommy Skyler and Daddy Jimmy. James was thrilled that his Daddy threw him over his shoulders and carried him ‘Baby Backpack’ style! Joe Bill and I hope that you’re having a Happy and Healthy Spring! Love, D2
