Rather than doing ‘Fist Bumps’ Sydney does ‘Tushy Bumps!’ She thinks that it’s hilarious to say the word tushy. When she’s doing her signature ‘Tushy Bump’ she extends her cute little bottom out really far and grins ear to ear as she’s bumping into you. Recently when we were at Abel’s On The Lake, with a twinkle in her eye, Syd told me that she had a secret. When I leaned in very close to hear her, she whispered: “Tushy macaroni” and then she giggled. I’m sure that it’ll come as no surprise that she and James were eating macaroni!
Sydney’s brain is so quick. The other day she was playing with a cute little stuffed French Poodle that we gave her. She innocently asked us: “Do you have to speak French to a French Poodle?” Another day she had this question: “Do people speak better English after they eat an English Muffin?” I wish that were true. I’ve been eating lots of English Muffins lately. Sydney and James love grilled cheese sandwiches on English Muffins!
I’m not sure if I can properly explain what happened last week but the bottom line is that 4 year old Sydney clearly outsmarted us and we’re still trying to figure out HOW she did it. After we’d picked up Syd from school she told us that she wanted to play at the park that we go to on pretty days that we fondly call the ‘Sydney and James Park.’ I told Syd that we couldn’t go there that day because my allergies were bothering me.
Joe Bill and I were discussing where we might stop on the way home to get Syd a bite to eat. I mentioned that I’d like to run into the Randalls Grocery Store on Bee Caves, a place that Syd has never been to with us, to get some fresh strawberries for us. Syd said that she wanted to go to the Pizza place across from Randalls that she and JB went to ONCE last Summer. When we got to the Pizza place Syd did NOT want to go in. She immediately told JB that she wanted him to take her to the rock garden right down from where we’d parked.
Syd had figured out a way to play outside and had gotten us to take her to a spot where she could do that. The girl is smooth…very smooth and she’s only 4 years old! With her brain, she’ll be a super chess player once she learns the game!
I’ve included some shots of Syd and James outside The Blanton Museum on the UT Campus. The kids loved running around. Their favorite part inside the Museum is an area where they can play with some building blocks. Also, I’ve put in some cute pictures I took in the ‘Sydney and James Park’ of Syd, who was wearing a darling, bright new Spring dress her Mommy gave her.
As Syd was leaving our house wearing the pink sparkling dress with the white fluffy trim and the rhinestone belt she announced to JB: “I LOOK LIKE A ROCK STAR!!!” Syd was right. She did look like a ROCK STAR! We had lots of fun when we got to her house. Syd liked feeding James. The Kids had fun dancing with Mommy and loved kissing Daddy.
I, of course, had to include a pic of Syd showing how she does her famous ‘Tushy Bump!’ In case you’re wondering where she’s going to wear her rhinestone jeans, velvet top and pink sequin purse…don’t forget SXSW is just around the corner! As I’ve said Sydney Marie Stewart is a ROCK STAR!
Love, D2
