Sydney and James were in great moods when we picked them up at their new school. Adorable Syd was her classroom's Door Monitor...which was the perfect job for her. Parents standing outside would tell Syd their child's name and she would enthusiastically make sure her classmates got hooked up with their Mommy or Daddy.
Syd was wearing one of her bright clothing combinations. She certainly fits in at this school, which is a colorful place. I've included a picture of the Cafeteria to give you an idea of what the school looks like. It's clear that Syd came to school prepared for a magical day. She brought her magic wand with her. So far, I haven't seen her wear a tiara to class but I'm not sure that won't happen. It's still early in the school year.
Syd pointed out her Principal, so JB and I took the opportunity to meet him. He told us that he'd worked at 13 other schools (11 in Austin) and this was the best one he's been to. This year Syd and James' school has been ranked better than 82% of the Elementary Schools in Texas!
Syd and James say funny things to each other. Syd was asking James if he knew what a hobby is. James said he didn't. Then his smart older sister told him: "A hobby is something that you do that you're good at." Then Syd added: "James, your hobby is YELLING! You're very good at YELLING!!!" Then James quickly responded: "Television is also my hobby, Sydney. I'm very good at WATCHING TV!!!"
JB and I had lots of fun when Jack, Syd and James were at our house for "Date Night." The Kids get along great. Jack loves to clean up. His new favorite thing to do is to recycle. He looked adorable when he was putting away our paper grocery bags! The darling little guy is an Environmentalist and an Austin Tree Hugger!

Earlier this Summer, Joe Bill and I spent a couple of fun filled days with the Stewarts and some of their friends in the beautiful town of Breckenridge, Colorado. We all had a great time in the mountains.
Syd and James certainly climbed to new heights as they scaled a Rock Wall that was 25 feet high at the Breckenridge Recreation Center. They even rang the bell at the top! It was especially impressive because Breckenridge is 9,600 feet above sea level and they've never climbed a Wall this difficult before!
