‘Sydney & James Have The Olympic Spirit!’

With competition being the word of the week because of the 2012 Olympics in London, I thought that I'd write about our hometown 'Little Miss Competition' Sydney Marie Stewart.

We were getting ready to play the Be Quiet Game in the car when I felt it necessary to tell Syd not to cry if she loses. Syd emphatically told me she shouldn't play saying: "I'm your godchild and you'll be upset with me if I lose." The truth is that we're NEVER upset with her when she loses. She's the one who gets UPSET WITH EVERYONE ELSE when she loses! I'm sure that she was trying to use some kind of reverse psychology on me!

Syd can be an enthusiastic winner. One day she'd beaten me in the Be Quiet Game. In a congratulatory way I let her know that she'd won. Syd looked right at me and said: "DEDE, YOU LOST! YOU LOST!"

On another matter, recently Joe Bill told Syd that she couldn't use his iPad anymore that day. She pronounced rather loudly: "WHEN I'M A GODPARENT I'M GOING TO LET MY GODCHILD USE MY IPAD AS LONG AS THEY WANT TO!"

I included pictures from JB's Birthday July 21st. We celebrated at Abel's On The Lake with Skyler, Jimmy, Syd, James, Gigi, Joel and Baby Jack. Syd & James were thrilled that they got to meet 4 month old Baby Jack.

My 1st Video is Sydney and James cheering for 17 year old USA swimming sensation Missy Franklin when she won her 4th Gold Medal. You'll be able to tell that The Kids really have the Olympic Spirit!

My 2nd Video is a Swimming Update where you'll be able to see how much The Kids have improved. James has learned how to breathe while he's swimming, which is a hard skill to master when you're only 3 years old. Good job, James! Sydney is great at the Backstroke and can do a very good racing dive. She looks like a Mermaid when she's swimming underwater. Good job, Sydney! At the end of the Video Syd and James were playing a game in the pool where Syd asks James to cry like a baby and then she comforts him sweetly telling him: "If you're scared, I'll come to you!"

My 3rd Video is the most famous Relay Race in the history of swimming. It was the Men's 4x100 Freestyle Relay during the Beijing Olympics in 2008. Michael Phelps and his team of Garret Weber-Gale, Cullen Jones and Jason Lezak won Gold. If you haven't seen the race you should. By the way, Michael, who is the greatest swimmer ever, has won a total of 22 medals including 18 Gold, 2 Silver and 2 Bronze. Good job, Michael!

Love, D2
