‘Sydney Is A Big Flirt’

Writer's picture: DeDe WatkinsDeDe Watkins

Sydney Marie Stewart is a big flirt. I think that she’s taken another page out of her manual on “How to Charm and Disarm Every Man in the World.”

Joe Bill had gotten her out of her car seat and he was carrying Syd to her house. I could hear her sweetly saying: “Joe Bill, you’re soooo strong!” I’m sure that, of course, JB loved hearing that. Do you think next week she’ll be saying: “Joe Bill, you’re soooo handsome!!!” And the week after that” “Joe Bill, you’re soooo smart!!!” Does that mean that I now have to be telling JB that he’s sooo strong, soooo handsome and soooo smart? I’ll be waiting for you to weigh in on that!

Gigi’s handsome Aussie husband Joel came over to our house while Sydney was here the other day. Syd has a big crush on Joel…but what woman doesn’t?

Sydney looked precious. She was wearing one of her favorite costumes…the darling red and black lady bug one that has matching wings with polka dots. When she saw Joel her wings started flapping and so were her eye lashes. She was doing that “thing” she does when she bats her long thick black eyelashes so fast that you’d swear a fan was on. Next, she gave him her all out dazzling smile that shows her adorable dimples.

That girl just oozes cuteness. When Joel was ready to leave, Sydney was first waving and then was blowing kisses…something we haven’t seen her do in about a year. (Note to Gigi: I’ve already warned you about Sydney!)

On a completely different subject, I thought I’d be the first to tell you that Sydney Marie Stewart is a ‘Child Fashion Contortionista,’ which is a term I just made up. Syd was digging thru one of the drawers at our house and found a cute little white tank top with colorful embroidered flowers on it. Of course, she immediately wanted to wear it.

JB and I pointed out that it would be WAY too small for her. In fact, it was marked extra small made for a NEWBORN baby size 0 to 3 months. That’s right ZERO TO 3 MONTHS. Syd wears a TODDLER size 3 and often now a TODDLER 4.

We were sure the top would get stuck on her and we were fully prepared to cut it off of her, if necessary. Syd just loved the top even though she had to squeeze herself into it…much like when she squished herself into fancy Cinderella flashing heels that were too small.

When I asked Syd how the top fit her she beamed: “It’s perfect!” Spoken like a true ‘Clothes Horse’ or in her case, perhaps spoken like a true ‘Clothes Pony!’

We hope that you have fun ‘horsing around’ and have a Happy Mother’s Day Weekend!

Love, D2 & JB
