Joe Bill and I have had the most wonderful week with Jack. He’s an incredible Superboy. He’s as sweet, smart, happy and fun as he is gorgeous! On top of that, Jack’s the most polite and helpful baby we’ve ever known. He’s always saying please and thank you. If you ask him something he doesn’t want to do he’ll politely say: “No, thank you.” The other day Gigi and Joel asked Jack if he was ready to leave our house and he said: “No, thank you!” Frankly, we weren’t ready for him to leave either! When Gigi went to Chicago on a business trip, Joel joined her for a fun Weekend Mini-vacation. Luckily, we got to babysit Jack at our house. In order to keep Gigi and Joel up to date on Jack’s activities we sent them special digital Postcards. When they got back in town the 5 of us watched a little of World Cup Soccer as the USA battled Portugal. You can tell from Gigi’s excited expression when Team USA scored a goal! Joel and Jack stayed in Austin when Gigi went to New York City for her job. Once again we sent Mommy special digital Postcards. I’ve included some cute pictures of Joel and Jack. JACK MAKING A BIG SPLASH IN THE WORLD OF SWIMMING WAS THE HIGHLIGHT OF THE WEEK!!! He took swimming lessons from Gwen Hurst, the best Children’s Swimming Coach in Austin…and that’s saying something since this city is known for being the hometown of a number of Gold Medal Olympic Swimmers. We know that Aussies love swimming and have some of the World’s best swimmers too. By the way, Gwen taught our godchildren Sydney and James to swim in record time too. This will be Syd’s 5th year of taking lessons. Jack had 3 short lessons in the pool lasting less than 7 minutes on 3 consecutive days. The lessons aren’t long because the children get so tired that they don’t have enough energy to keep swimming. On the 4th day, today, Joel was invited to get in the pool with Coach Gwen and Jack. At age two years old, Jack Bernard Melrose is in THE SWIM OF THINGS now that he can swim! I’ve included 5 short Videos so that you can see how great Jack swims. Coach Gwen told us that Jack is one of the best little swimmers she’s ever had and that he’s awesome. We all certainly agree with her! Love, D2
