Syd turns 3 later this month. When I went to the hospital New Mommy Skyler was propped up on her pillow wearing a gray and blue T shirt with a large marching Rice Owl on it. She looked gorgeous and was grinning ear to ear. She had that serene and blissful look that only Moms, who have just given birth, have. Skyler had her arm gently placed around her tiny precious package.
Newborn Sydney, like her Mommy, looked gorgeous. There she was perfect, healthy, and peaceful. She was wrapped in a soft pink, blue and white striped blanket with a matching hat on her beautiful little head.
It was one of those moments that will live in my heart forever: Mother and Baby happy, healthy and safe.
I, of course, asked Skyler if she was in any pain even though it was perfectly clear that she wasn’t. Because I love Skyler, I wanted to make sure that she was fine. She told me that she didn’t hurt at all. I hadn’t thought about the fact that her doctor had given her pain killers but it was good to know that she felt great.
As you all know by now, Sydney has grown into a remarkable little girl. She remains gorgeous, just like the day she was born. She’s special in many ways: she’s extremely smart, very funny, athletic, charming, thoughtful, a person with boundless energy (which anyone who’s been with her lately can attest to,) and she’s very loving.
Sydney is lucky that she has a wonderful family and lots of friends who care deeply about her. Syd, her Kid Brother Baby James and their parents will always be surrounded by love.
Love, D2
