I’m really hoping that no one will tell Sydney Marie Stewart the well known legend of Lady Godiva, who has been depicted in literature and art as a heroine. It’s great that she helped the townspeople of Coventry, England in the 1050s but it’s HOW she did it is what I don’t want Syd to know about right now.
According to the legend, Lady Godiva rode her horse naked thru her town in the full light of day in order to convince her husband to reduce the taxes of the poor tenants who worked on their land. Lady Godiva’s beautiful long hair covered her body.
We all know that Syd can pull her clothes off faster than probably most of the people in our country, no matter their age. The other day Syd, who was fully clothed, decided that she’d watch the Disney movie ‘Rapunzel’ on my little DVD player….but for some unknown reason she decided to watch it naked as a jay bird. She plopped herself down on our small brown velvet couch.
Syd likes to imitate the story of ‘Rapunzel’ and her famous hair. Lately she’s been using the tinsel garland that I bought for Christmas decorations by holding it up to her head and telling us that SHE’S Rapunzel and here’s her beautiful long hair. It’s okay for her to pretend to be Rapunzel, I just don’t want Syd to pretend to be Lady Godiva!!!
Syd and James have been having fun decorating our house. James told me that he wanted to use the polka dots…at first I didn’t know what he was talking about until I realized that he meant the silver and red Christmas balls! You’ll see how Child Fashionista and Style Icon Sydney Marie Stewart used the gold garland as an accessory to her outfit!
The kids were playing on the floor. They decided that James would be the Baby and Sydney would be the Mommy. James got on top of Syd. Then they came up with the idea of James being in Syd’s tummy. With both kids giggling, Syd wanted to get in James’ tummy!
It’s been a great Thanksgiving for Longhorn fans since UT beat A&M 27 to 25, in their last scheduled meeting, in a real thriller of a game. I’ve included a picture of Texas kicker (Number 19) Justin Tucker, who graduated from Westlake, when he was lifted up by his teammates after he kicked the game winning field goal in the last second of the game. Good job, Justin! The UT Tower was lit completely Orange because we beat The Aggies.
Good job, Horns!
Love, D2
