‘James & Joe Bill Celebrating Their Birthdays & Other Slumber Summer Fun!’

Happy Birthday, James, who turned 4! He shared his party with his close friend Yvonne, who turned 5. The kids had fun playing on the Splash Pad at pretty Pease Park, that’s part of the Shoal Creek Greenbelt, that’s been the site of Eeyore’s Birthday Party. James led off as the first child who hit the colorful piñata. To the delight of everyone, mighty slugger, Big Sister Sydney smashed it. Syd, who frequently makes fashion statements, was wearing her brand new pink and purple galoshes. It was really hot and we’re in a major drought. You have to admire Syd’s optimistic spirit! When you see the VIDEO of Syd hitting the piñata be sure to watch her run after another child carrying the piñata stick like it’s the Olympic Torch! I’ve included VIDEO of family and friends singing ‘Happy Birthday.’ James and Yvonne made sure that everyone knew that they wanted to eat a slice from both of the birthday cakes. After the outdoor party, Birthday Boy James, Syd, Skyler, BeBe (Lynne), Joe Bill and I met up with other family members at Matt’s El Rancho for lunch. We had fun with Great Grandmother Bebet (B.A.), Grandfather TaTa (Lan), Grandmother Dell (Adele) and Aunt Kate, who’s headed to Vanderbilt as a Freshman. A few days earlier we celebrated Joe Bill’s Birthday at Abel’s On The Lake. JB turned 70 on July 21st. He wanted a low key party and told me not to get him a cake. I let him know that would never go over with Syd and James, who love birthday cakes. The people at Central Market made a little mistake but we all thought it was funny…the cake read: ‘Happy Birthday JOE & BILL!” Gigi, Joel, 16 month old Baby Jack and Jackie Lain joined us. Everybody had a great time. I’ve included some pictures of Sydney, James and Baby Jack that I took the other night. It looked like we were having a ‘Pajama Party!’ The Kids always have fun together. I’ve added a cute VIDEO of Sydney and Baby Jack dancing. All three kids love our 2 Lammie singing toys. Syd decided that she’d turn on both of them at the same time. Something tells me that the way that Syd’s dancing reminds me of how people DANCE ON TABLES when they’re having a great time!!! Love, D2
