Joe Bill and I went over to Gigi and Joel’s the other night for a delicious casual dinner and had a chance to spend a little time with Beautiful Baby Jack, who’s 9 1/2 months old. He’s really a sweet little boy. The first thing that he was interested in was my green Christmas tie. No doubt, it was the sparkling sequins that got his attention. Of course, I let him play with it and gave him a pretty decorative Nutcracker pillow that was near their beautiful Christmas tree in the living room. (By the way, I have to say that Gigi can never ever look bad. The girl looks like a movie star even when she has on no make up and hasn’t done anything special with her hair!) Gigi and Joel were teaching Baby Jack to wave bye bye, which he thought was hilarious. Joel kept moving across the room waving and Baby Jack kept laughing harder and harder. He finally did wave. In the ‘List of Firsts’ waving is important for him because he has to be able to wave back at all of the gorgeous girls, who wave at him! Pick up lines will come later…they have to because he can’t say many things except da da. That’s great for getting Daddy’s attention but not so good in the girl department! Another First: Beautiful Baby Jack met Santa Claus…well, let me put it this way, he stared at Santa Claus. Joe Bill’s Law Firm, VE, has very elaborate Christmas parties where St. Nick is available for pictures. Baby Jack didn’t cry like many infants do…he just kept looking at St. Nick and looking back at Mommy and Daddy. Baby Jack was probably thinking, okay, I’ll go along with this deal as long as Santa doesn’t come home with us. Our goddaughter Sydney, who’s nearly 5, and her Kid Brother James, who’s 3, were also at the party. They were thrilled that Gigi, Joel and Baby Jack were able to come.
